Fern

*hey, before you read, i encourage you to listen to the work first!*

2023. The Fern originates from an assignment to create a visual and auditory identity inspired by the systemic, fractal patterns that the fern's leaves carry, and the metaphorical implications of applying that philosophy in other environments. Working with three other students, a 10-minute segment of a longer 40-minute mixtape was orchestrated. Of the 10-minute segment, I organized a 2-minute section, which you can listen to at the link above! Heavily influenced by the jungle genre of dance music, reverberation, repetition, and layering create a sonic impression of the systemic properties of the fern.
